Trail Highlights
This is Southwest Colorado’s most famous Jeep trail network. The trails in the Alpine Loop offer easy to adventurous options, all with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains and the chance to explore ghost towns and mining camps. Typically open June through September, depending on snow. The primary trails that comprise the Alpine Loop will soon be available as individual maps:

Engineer Pass
Cinnamon Pass
Corkscrew Gulch

Ranges from Easy 1 to Adventurous 5. Travelers should be prepared for high shelf roads with no guardrails.

Varies, 50-80 miles roundtrip. Plan to spend all day.

Recommended for high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicles. Sharp S-curves, and steep grades recommend 4L, though not required for the easier parts of the trail.
